As soon as I got an advanced copy of DIESEL AMERICA's NEW album Leave Your Mark, I knew I was holding something very special in my hands and I couldn't wait to fill my ears up with some real deal New York City Rock N' Roll. Before I get into the review side of things, I want to let you all know that I am very proud of the band - Vic Russo, Kevin Galligan, Rob Sonnenberg and Frank Cherena - since I know how much blood, sweat and tears they all collectively spilled in order to make this album a reality. Congratulations brothers!!!

From the moment I pressed play and "Symptom" came on followed by "First Day" and "River Through", I knew that I was in for a very special musical treat. What I really enjoy about this album is that every song has a unique character. I guess producer Joey Z (LIFE OF AGONY, CARNIVORE, STEREOMUD) is to blame for that.

The song that takes the price as "the hit" is the title track "Leave Your Mark". This single if marketed right, could easily become a hit that is heard in radio's and computers all over the world. But make no mistake, songs like "My Prime" and "Griffin", among others, are very likely to drive crowds insane on a live setting.

Up until the release of Leave Your Mark, I knew Diesel America were a rocking live band, but now I know that they also have the chops to produce some amazing music! This is all thanks to the musicality that Diesel America offers time and time again. Add this to the clear yet balls to the wall vocals by Russo, and once again it is proven that in New York City there is a very strong Heavy Music scene thanks to hard work, great music and most importantly: attitude!

In their own words:

Our goal was to write the country's next best rock album. We approached this album with a lot of honesty and a deep feel for the compositions created. The entire process of writing and recording this album has been an amazing experience. We are having a ton of fun playing shows and meeting new people, all while not taking ourselves too seriously. Most of all we are honored to be part of the NYC music community. We are grateful for all the support of the city's great venues, fans, and promoters and are happy to return that support in kind"
